I grew up in Staten Island, part of New York City. I graduated from State University of New York at Albany with a degree in Marketing. I currently live in north New Jersey. I'm married and have a daughter, and two cats. I am an avid hockey fan and still play ice hockey myself in an amateur league once a week. I also enjoy playing poker, reading historical fiction books, and smoking an occasional cigar.
I started my sales career shortly after college by selling advertising, door to door, for the Yellow Pages. In 2001 I decided to give car sales a try and fell in love with the industry. I started off as a sales rep, and through the years worked as a BDC rep, Internet sales rep, Sales Manager, Desk Manager, and BDC Director. I've also participated in training for F & I and Service Adviser as well as worked closely with the Used car and Fixed Ops departments.
I spent most of my professional automotive career with the DCH Auto Group, headquartered in New Jersey, and Lithia Motors (currently the 3rd largest auto group in the USA) which purchased DCH in 2014. Although I worked for a number of different dealerships within DCH, i am most proud of my accomplishments in helping Paramus Honda to become the largest and most profitable store in DCH and Lithia, as well as a top ten volume Honda store in the USA for New, CPO and Service.
I currently run four (4) departments over two locations; the Sales BDC and Service BDC for both DCH Paramus Honda and DCH Honda of Nanuet, comprising of a total of 25 employees. I am also involved in all of the traditional and digital marketing decisions, passionately involved in the SEO and SEM of our websites, help manage the advertising budgets, in charge of online reputation management, and am the point of contact for most software and 3rd party venders.
I am frequently asked to be a presenter at DCH General Manager and Marketing meetings, as well as asked to train incoming BDC managers to the auto group. I also consult with other stores in the auto group that need help performing up to their potential. I am considered the 'Go To BDC Guy' within DCH and Lithia.
I have recently decided to give back to the industry that has given me so much, by sharing my knowledge through public speaking. I have written articles that were published in various automotive magazines. I have also performed speaking presentations at events such as the Digital Dealer Conference, as well as hosting free webinars. I have also been featured on the cover of several publications such as Dealer Magazine (July 2019 issue) and Carwars Magazine (Winter 2018 issue).
